Toppers hail teachers for hosting online classes during the pandemic

Top performers in Class 10 (Madhyamik) State Board Examination, the results of which were declared by the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education (WBBSE) on Friday, credited their successful teachers for arranging classes in online during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Arnab Gorai of Ramkrishna Mission Ashrama, Ramharipur, Bankura District, who jointly won the exam scoring 693 out of 700 points, said, “Not being able to go to school during the pandemic has hardly bothered my studies because of my teachers. . They continued to take online courses, which helped us complete the studies. There was not much difference between offline and online lessons as our teachers made sure we got the best learning results. »
The other joint leader, Rounak Mandal of Burdwan CMS School Secondary School in East Burdwan District, said, “It saved me a lot of time as the lessons were conducted online. Getting to school takes a long time. While I used to study 6-7 hours earlier, I have been able to study 8-9 hours in the past year.
Schools across the state had reopened in November last year after a 20-month hiatus and only students in grades 9 to 12 were allowed to take physical lessons. But they were closed again in January following a rapid rise in infection cases in the state. Schools did not reopen until the new academic session in April.

Kaushiki Sarkar of Adarshabani Academy High School in Malda district who shared second place with Rounak Mandal (sharing same name with co-topper) of Ghatal Vidyasagar High School in West Midnapore district with 692 points, said she had studied his textbooks thoroughly. “In addition, my private tutors have been a great help to me. The pass percentage for the Madhyamik exams, which were held from March 7 to 16, was 86.60%. Out of a total of 10,98,775 students who sat for the exams, 9,49,927 passed. The passing percentage of male students is 88.59% while that of female students is 85%.
