“Community Networks Aotearoa is honored to announce the launch of our Tick For Governance e-learning course. We would like to formally invite all interested individuals and organizations, Members of Parliament, Ministers, Politicians, New Organizations, Journalists, Kaimahi and community members from all areas of Aotearoa to join us next.
Thursday, February 24 at 4:30 p.m. for the online launch of the Tick For Governance course. The course will be launched by the Governor General of Aotearoa New Zealand, Her Excellency the Right Honorable Lady Cindy Kiro.
Community Networks Aotearoa strengthens the community sector of Aotearoa by supporting community networks and organizations across the motu. That’s why we developed the Tick For Governance course, to help community organizations and members of boards, committees and trusts learn and be recognized for good governance practices.
The course consists of ten modules, ranging from how organizations can honor Te Tiriti o Waitangi, legal responsibilities, annual planning and financial strategy and tools. We provide resources, examples, assessment questions and other links to ensure that the course is a lasting asset for all those involved in the governance of community organizations.
Once purchased, the course can be taken at the user’s own pace, and upon completion, each user receives an NZQA-approved micro-credit to recognize their governance skills.
The community sector and non-governmental organizations are an integral part of New Zealand society. The Tick For Governance course aims to recognize and enhance governance skills in the nonprofit sector to ensure that organizations can continue to serve their communities in the future.
We want the Tick For Governance course to be accessible to all CBOs and their kaimahi, regardless of their role, size of organization, or area of work. We need your help to spread the word far and wide so that community organizations on the motu have the chance to grow. Please share, forward and invite others to this launch through your own networks, organisations, social media, website, newsletter – anything that gets the word out!
The launch is open to all and will be held as part of our 2022 Conference. You can attend the launch via our virtual conference room using the link below.
We look forward to seeing you there!”
