Union, KY, U.S., Jan. 11, 2022 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) —

This new teacher professional development program was created by Dr Cameron Caswell and Charle Peck (known together as Dr Cam + Charle) who believed that traditional learning models underestimated the importance of education holistic to change lives. As parents and teachers themselves, they have experienced first-hand the challenges of trying to change the system, often feeling helpless in the face of lack of adequate training.

More details can be found at https://www.thrivingshcool.org

Together, they created an innovative solution that was both realistic and effective. The newly announced program supports parents and students in addition to school staff and helps them all master 10 essential foundation skills for lasting results.

Unlike other school programs, Dr. Cam + Charle have created a program based on their expertise and personal experiences. They explain that they work and will continue to work daily in the “trenches” with students, staff and parents. This allows them to identify the main challenges on the ground so that they can create appropriate solutions for them.

Their diverse yet complementary educational model allows all school stakeholders to work safely with each other in a nurturing and empowered community. As the name suggests, Thriving School Consulting’s new teacher professional development attempts to embed layers of mental health support within the system rather than adding new programs and responsibilities. Rather than giving overworked educators more work, they help them energize what they are already doing.

Dr. Cam, known as the “Teen Translator”, is a teen psychologist and family success coach. For more than 20 years, she has helped parents build strong, positive relationships with their teenage children.

Charle serves districts and school leaders as a consultant and brings 20 years of teaching and leadership in mental health. She understands the stresses and strains teachers experience and can speak to this group in a way they understand.

A spokesperson for the couple said: “Together they are a powerful force as each brings their own expertise and experience to the same mission and passion. With this teacher professional development program, teachers can reach more people and effect greater transformations. »
