Starting Online Classes for the Minority Community: Authorities for Sgr Schools

On Monday, authorities ordered all Head Teachers (HoI) of all public and private schools and Zonal Education Officers (ZEO) in Srinagar district to start online tutoring of students belonging to minority communities.
According to a local news agency, Kashmir News Observer (KNO), Chief Education Officer (CEO) Srinagar officials, in a communication to all principals of public and private schools and ZEOs, said: “It is enjoined to all HoIs to begin online tutoring of Hindu and Sikh minority students and reconnecting them with school activities.
The communication reads as follows: “Prepare the Viz class and student’s school database and create Whatsapp groups by class, use student-friendly virtual platforms for conducting online lessons in as a complementary measure to normal schooling.”
It also indicates that the assessment of the level of learning of the students in each subject must be carried out virtually via a Google form questionnaire or any other possible virtual format and a record of it to be incorporated into the register of the level of learning .
In addition, teachers were advised to prepare their action plans for online teaching and electronic materials according to their curriculum before and so that their students would understand the concepts quite easily.
“The online presence of students is recorded on the attendance register. Any type of laxity in this matter is the sole responsibility of the HoIs and ZEOs concerned and the report on action taken regarding the exercise must be submitted within one day in a positive manner,” it says. (TO KNOW)
