Mikaela Ian Pearman: Bringing social media to small businesses (File photography by DW Perception)

Small business owners looking to learn how to effectively use social media in minutes a day to attract new clients or clients are encouraged to attend a workshop on the topic.

Social Media for Small Business will be showcased virtually next Wednesday by Mikaela Ian Pearman, CEO of Mikaela Ian PR.

Ms Pearman said she offers public relations and social media services to her clients, but acknowledges that many small business owners cannot afford to hire someone to manage their social media.

She led the training in July for the Bermuda Economic Development Corporation.

Ms Pearman said: “I truly believe that in 2022 small businesses need to master social media. There is so much money to be made using social media.

“I know many women who have started businesses online and are now running them full-time through the effective use of social media to attract new customers.

“If you’re not maximizing social media, you’re missing out on a whole new set of potential customers.”

The training will cover various topics:

• An overview of the most popular social media apps

• Why social media is essential for your business

• How to create a simple yet effective social media strategy

• How to start on the application of your choice

• What you should post and how often

• How to use the power of video on social networks

Ms Pearman said: “I would encourage anyone who runs a business and wants to be more present on social media to attend this training.

“I know what it’s like to struggle with social media and be overwhelmed. My goal with this training is to make it more accessible and easier for business owners to run on their own. »

She added: “There will be no fluff. This training will be full of value and is designed for participants to implement immediately.

“At the end of this training, participants will have a better understanding of social media, how to use it effectively for their business, and a simple strategy to get started.”

The 90-minute session will be held virtually next Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. The cost is $199.

Registrants will receive a link to the Zoom room.
