Classes scheduled for April – Financial Literacy Month – focusing on money management include:

Build up your savings: Wednesday, March 30 10:00-11:00 Saving money helps you plan for the future and reach your goals. Although saving can be difficult, taking small steps can make a difference. Also offered on April 11 from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Let’s talk about credit: Monday, April 4 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Learn how to reduce your debt, improve your credit and maintain a good credit score. Create your own step-by-step plan to pay off your debt.

Information session on matched savings: Monday, April 4 4-5 p.m.

Learn about matched savings programs such as Rainy Day Savings and Family Development Account programs. They can help you save for a goal by matching your savings with additional funds. Find out how the programs work, check eligibility and ask questions.

my money works: Wednesdays, April 6 to May 4, 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Gain the skills and confidence you need to stretch your money, pay your bills, reduce your debt, find money to save, plan for retirement, and secure financial goals with a plan to achieve more financial stability. Also offered on Mondays, April 25 to May 23, 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Grow your business online: Self-paced, register anytime, complete by May 31. Gain the skills, knowledge and confidence to create a compelling web presence and website for your small business. Work online at your own pace with self-guided courses covering branding, GoDaddy tools, website design and content, SEO and marketing, e-commerce, and more. Remote interactive sessions and labs are included. Made possible by Empower by GoDaddy in partnership with New Ventures Maine.

Next steps: work and life beyond the pandemic: Thursdays, March 31-May 5, 6:30-8:00 p.m. In this interactive online course, participants will take action to change their work and life, connect with other participants and community resources, set themselves personal goals and develop an action plan to make progress on their goals.

business success: Thursdays, March 31 to April 21 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. Business Success is a series of dynamic online workshops created to help you understand and manage the many components of successfully starting and growing your business. March 31: Accounting Solutions; April 7: cash flow projection; April 14: Quickbooks – Is it good for me? ; April 21: Tax preparation.

Job search course: Monday, April 4 to 25, 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Ready for a new job or career change? Join us for one, two or three of these workshops. April 4: Job Search Strategies; April 11: Resume Strategies; April 25: Interview Strategies (no class on April 18).

Make career choices: Tuesday April 5 10am-11am Ready for a career change but not sure where to start? This workshop will help point you in the right direction.
