Anime is bigger than ever these days, so you can imagine what kind of pressure the industry is under. While the success is welcome, everyone from artists to directors and animators are under all kinds of pressures. Despite ongoing industry tensions, people are lining up to work in anime as much as possible, and one of its most famous trade schools is making the dream more accessible with online courses.

The change comes from the Yoyogi Animation Academy, one of the best craft schools for artists in Japan. The school dates back to 1978 and has produced some of the best animators to make a name for themselves in anime and manga. And after years of hard work, the school is finally opening an online program for aspiring artists entirely remotely.

The school recently announced their Full Remote School track, and it’s already generating buzz with fans. According to the announcement, this new track will consist of online courses specifically designed for distance learning students. These lessons will be paired with live streams of in-person classes, so students can interact with instructors in real time. And if students want personalized attention, they will have one-on-one weekly interviews with teachers for feedback.

The Full Remote School track has also confirmed that it will have three areas of interest for students to choose from. You can join the Animation Department, Manga Department, or NFT Illustration Department. These online classes will begin this fall as the Yoyogi Animation Academy wants to launch its inaugural class as soon as possible. If the new track does well, a new class should be introduced in April, so artists better get their portfolios together ASAP!
