NAGPUR: An interactive online course on ‘experiential learning’ for teachers and school leaders was launched on Wednesday by Union Minister for Human Resources Development Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank.
The free course was developed by CBSE in association with Tata Trusts and is now available on MHRD’s DIKSHA platform.
“Experiential learning” pedagogy enables students to connect the content of learning areas and subjects with their own lives and the world around them. This promotes self-thinking, creativity, and effective study skills in the students. It is a proven fact that rote learning when replaced by learning by doing accelerates student joy, understanding and conceptual clarity. While the teacher facilitates and guides, the student is able to assess, think critically, make decisions and master knowledge by constructing it.
Teachers can follow three simple steps to join the course:
Step 1: Download the DIKSHA application on Android smartphone by clicking on the link:
Step 2: Log in using an existing DIKSHA account OR Log in through Google OR Register in DIKSHA using an email id or cell phone number.
Step 3a: Scan the QR code using the DIKSHA mobile app;
Step 3b: Click the links to open the course on the DIKSHA mobile app or desktop / laptop web browser:
It is hoped that at the end of this course, educators will be able to make learning more joyful, reflective and multidisciplinary. Teachers who have successfully completed the course can download the end of course certificate on the DIKSHA portal from July 10.
The CBSE has also scheduled regional webinars for hub leaders and will share details through the CBSE Centers of Excellence. For any other questions, schools can contact [email protected]
